The Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Well lets start at the beginning.

"I believe that every law abiding subject of the United Kingdom should have the right to own and use firearms for self defence"

Ok, first let me explain how I see this working:

At the present time here in the UK, every law abiding subject, (and I use this word deliberately), has the right at the age of 17 to obtain and use a motor vehicle. OK so far so good, of course if all 17 year old just went out and bought a car and used it as they saw fit we would soon have groups screaming from the rooftops, "BAN ALL CARS!"

So why does this not happen?

Simple, before anyone can use a motor vehicle on the road one has to obtain a license, then take and pass a test, to show that they have the basic requirements to use a motor vehicle safely on the road.

Back to firearms.

I propose that at the age of 21 all law abiding home owners would have the right to obtain a permit to own a firearm. After obtaining the permit you would then need to attend an approved training course in order to take a test to show competence in the use of a firearm. Once this permit had been obtained you would be entitled to purchase ANY firearm you wished.





So having established the basic premise for firearms ownership we need to look at why we haven't got this basic human right.
We haven't got it because the government won't give it to us.

Fairly simple to understand. Next question; why won't the government give us our rights?
At the end of the day their are NO reasonable reasons why we should be denied our human rights.
